Amazon Leo is revolutionizing internet connectivity with its low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Our mission is to provide rapid and reliable internet access to diverse customers around the globe, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies in remote areas lacking connectivity. As a Network Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise networks that support our manufacturing sites, research labs, launch facilities, and mission operations centers globally. Your expertise will guarantee the network infrastructure is secure, high-performing, and highly available across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities: Deploy and maintain intricate network solutions in manufacturing and laboratory settings. Ensure robust network operations for launch and mission activities. Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to routing, interconnectivity, and performance. Oversee change control processes for network adjustments. Develop and uphold operational procedures and technical documentation. Lead capacity planning and performance enhancement initiatives. Improve monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection. Mentor junior engineers on operational best practices and troubleshooting techniques. Drive automation efforts to streamline routine tasks and enhance efficiency. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical infrastructure support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network reliability for mission-critical operations. A Day in the Life: Each day will begin with reviewing network monitoring alerts for our manufacturing facilities and mission operations centers. You'll analyze network traffic patterns and plan for capacity needs as we expand into new lab spaces. You'll be involved in deploying network solutions for upcoming launch sites and working with contract manufacturing partners and testing facilities. Managing vendor relationships for WAN circuit installations, addressing routing problems affecting production, and mentoring the team on complex network setups will also be part of your role. Additionally, you'll be actively involved in change management meetings, scheduling maintenance, and documenting network modifications, all while balancing the immediate operational needs with long-term strategic planning to ensure reliability in our networks for mission-critical applications. This position is based in our office, requiring attendance five days a week, with some travel (up to 25%) for business purposes. Basic Qualifications: 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols. 4+ years of experience in a Linux/Unix environment. 1+ years of experience with automation scripting in Python, Bash, Shell, or Perl. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWS and networking products such as Direct Connect and Transit Gateway. The base salary range for this position is: USA, NY, New York - $155,600.00 - $210,500.00 annually USA, VA, Arlington - $136,000.00 - $184,000.00 annually USA, WA, Bellevue - $136,000.00 - $184,000.00 annually.
