Part-Time Clinical Nutrition Specialist

This part-time role offers flexible working hours and meaningful interactions with patients as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Schedule & Compensation Hours: 12-15 hours per week Flexibility: Choose your preferred working days and times Compensation: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour, based on experience Additional Perks: Travel time paid at the same hourly rate, in addition to onsite working hours Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed nutrition assessments for patients at nutritional risk, adhering to established protocols and evidence-based guidelines. Develop, implement, and monitor personalized nutrition care plans to optimize recovery and enhance health outcomes. Provide thorough nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families, focusing on disease management, recovery strategies, and strategies to prevent hospital readmissions. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to deliver coordinated and patient-centered care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system. Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as necessary, based on lab results, weights, and clinical parameters. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as an essential nutrition resource for hospital staff. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program. Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Active state dietitian license (or eligibility). 1-3 years of recent clinical experience in acute or rehabilitation hospital settings (required). Experience in enteral/parenteral nutrition is highly preferred. Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills. Able to work independently while effectively collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
