Description Conduct evaluations across children, adults, and seniors utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques. Create tailored treatment plans focusing on immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing concerns. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities. Work in tandem with a team of healthcare professionals including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to form an integrated care plan. Provide educational resources for patients and their families to support their progress outside of therapy sessions. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care. Maintain thorough and precise documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations as well as organizational policies. Keep up-to-date with professional advancements through ongoing education and collaboration with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) as mandated for ASHA certification. Certifications Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first month of employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatments for patients of all ages, with a thorough grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication abilities allowing for effective interactions with patients, their families, and healthcare teams. Cultural competence to adapt therapy methods using diverse approaches that respect linguistic uniqueness. Strong critical thinking and clinical problem-solving capabilities.
