What You'll Be Doing: As a Platform Engineer on our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in managing our robust application suite and cloud infrastructure, with a key focus on observability as we enhance our cloud infrastructure and application reliability. If you're excited about being part of this transformation, we'd love to have you on our high-performance team. Responsibilities: Engineer and manage observability solutions using OpenTelemetry for monitoring and tracing application performance. Contribute to Evolent's Internal Developer Platform leveraging Backstage through active coding. Deploy and manage container solutions using Docker and Kubernetes, with a focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Apps (ACA). Monitor the health and performance of containers, responding swiftly to any issues. Collaborate with DevOps teams to refine Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code practices. Engage in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify and address root causes, preventing future issues. Follow security best practices to ensure that all containerized workloads are secure. Required Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure and 5+ years of overall cloud-native experience. Demonstrated commitment to developing coding skills with proficiency in multiple programming languages. Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry and experience implementing observability solutions. Expertise in various APM tools, including Prometheus, Elastic, Dynatrace, and DataDog. Proficient in TypeScript and React for developing internal platform UIs or developer portals. Proven experience deploying and managing container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker. Deep knowledge of deployment methodologies for Kubernetes, with experience in ArgoCD and Helm. Familiarity with Azure services like Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Service Fabric. Passionate about automation using tools such as Ansible and Terraform. Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Expertise in at least one scripting/configuration language: PowerShell, YAML, HCL, or Python. Familiarity with agile methodology (i.e., Scrumban) for project management. A strong communicator who values transparency. As part of our secure hiring process, we require several steps for identity verification, including the submission of a government-issued photo ID. Technical Requirements: All employees must have high-speed internet (over 10 Mbps) and the ability to connect directly to the home internet router for call center roles, with requirements subject to change if office locations reopen. The expected base salary for this position is $120,000 - $135,000, with eligibility for a bonus based on performance factors.
