JOB SUMMARY The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for coordinating all purchases for the company including planning, organizing and regulating the sourcing, price checking, and procurement of all inventory/parts to guarantee the company an effective return on capital. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for purchasing, including but not limited to spare parts orders, manufacturing orders, capital expenditure orders, and orders for non-diminishing stock items. Work with Purchasing and Logistics Supervisor to develop purchasing, policies and procedures. Manage all communication for purchase orders with vendors and internal departments. Analyze all vendor invoices and evaluate them with all quantity received and manage inventory of all items. Prepare, process and maintain records of all purchase orders and associated documents for all processes and maintain knowledge on all open orders and manage all calls for purchasing and delivery schedule. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy. Assist in Weekly Cycle Counts with Purchasing and Logistics Team Coordinate customs brokers for all incoming and outgoing international shipments. Coordinate the delivery of new equipment with Project Engineer to ensure accurate and on-time delivery to customer sites Streamlines shipping and transportation processes. Communicates with service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers or trucking companies. Update shared portal with Germany for equipment deliveries. Resolves problems conserving transportation. Logistic systems, imports or exports, or customer issues. Communicates freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services. Other duties as assigned Requirements Experience in using Lean Manufacturing Principles in a manufacturing environment Experience in using an ERP/MRP system, preferably Syteline or similar. Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes Education - High School Diploma or equivalent 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or administrative support (manufacturing environment preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational Good communication skills for working with suppliers and internal teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal for an office & warehouse environment Small company environment Steinert US offers competitive pay and a total compensation package that includes health, dental, vision, company paid life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, Paid Time Off, and 11 paid holidays.
