ROLE OVERVIEW: The Store Security Specialist provides a visible presence at store entrances and exits, effectively mitigating theft and ensuring a safe and secure environment for both associates and customers. You will greet all customers warmly, maintain a professional demeanor, and monitor compliance with security policies. Partnering with Store Leadership, you will help minimize operational shortages while upholding our core values to protect the Ross treasure! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure Safety and Security: Prioritize safety and assist leadership in maintaining a secure environment. Foster Customer Engagement: Greet customers with eye contact and smiles, providing exceptional service. Monitor for Theft: Identify suspicious behavior and communicate potential threats to leadership. Educate on Theft Prevention: Train associates on loss prevention strategies and practices. COMPETENCIES: Work Process Management Business Acumen Planning and Prioritization Team Building Effective Communication Accountability and Execution QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required; AA degree preferred. One year of supervisory or relevant experience preferred. One year of training in loss prevention/security preferred. Active Security Guard License is a plus. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing and moving around. Must be able to lift objects over 25 lbs and perform regular bending and stooping.
