The Driver will work cooperatively with all team members and program participants to assist in implementing the overall Enterprises' plan. This position requires a team member who promotes and participates in a collegial atmosphere within the Enterprises Department, works cooperatively with all enterprise team members to help them and the department attain the overall goal.Responsibility DescriptionDonation Truck Driver: Primary operator of donation truck to efficiently pick up donations from residences or businessesFunctional knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including fuel and fluid levels, tire pressure, battery, fuses, light bulbs, and lift mechanismsProficient in basic math to calculate and verify delivery schedules, weights, and measuresStrategically review assigned routes before departure and organize schedules to maximize pick-upsMaintain constant communication with Dispatch during the routeFunctional knowledge of electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computersObserve all safety rules outlined in the guidelines provided by The Foundry MinistriesObserve all safety rules established by the Alabama Department of Public Safety and OSHAPhysically must be able to bend, lift, carry, load, and unload heavy objects; enter and exit vehicle frequently during route; drive long distances Customer Relations: Serve as an ambassador of The Foundry MinistriesTreat each individual with dignity and respectFollow departmental guidelines for customer service and resolving customer issuesDeliver exemplary customer service to donorsModeling Christ-like attributes and values through actions, words, and attitudesMaintaining a safe, transparent, and healing environment that is based on grace, truth, love, trust, and authenticity without fearEmbracing the accountability process that leads to self-evaluation personally as well as for program participants, volunteers, donors, and guestsTeaching and mentoring program participants at every opportunity by using biblical preceptsBuilding healthy, loving, and compassionate relationships with program participants, guests, volunteers, donors, and staff while establishing healthy and safe boundariesMaintaining a personal lifestyle of integrity, honesty, and responsibilityPraying with program participants, volunteers, guests, donors, and staff Employment Readiness - Riders: Follow program guidelines and rider guidelines regarding interactions with and oversight of program participants assigned to a vehicleTreat each program participant assigned as a Rider with dignity and professionalismCommunicate issues and concerns regarding program participants to managementMaintain program participant confidentiality at all times Qualifications and Education/License Requirements:Education: High School Diploma, GED, or approved equivalent experience Experience: Minimum of one (1) years' experience driving large trucks, including basic vehicle inspections and maintenanceOrganizational and time management skills Requirements: The Foundry's insurance carrier approved state-issued driver's license.Knowledge of safe lifting/carrying guidelines and other basic safety guidelinesAble to work required overtime as assigned by the Offsite Warehouse Assistant Manager, including but not limited to evening shifts and special eventsFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and emailStrong interpersonal skillsProven ability to resolve issues in a calm and efficient mannerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComfortable presenting information in person or via various communication channels (telephone, email, social media)Servant leaderQuick learner and enjoys the challenge of taking on new assignmentsWillingness to be a team player Staff members of The Foundry Ministries choose to participate in our grace-based environment by: Modeling Christ-like attributes and values through actions, words, and attitudesMaintaining a safe, transparent, and healing environment based on grace, truth, love, trust, and authenticity without fearEmbracing the accountability process that leads to personal self-evaluationTeaching and mentoring program participants, volunteers, and peers at every opportunity by using biblical preceptsBuilding healthy, loving, and compassionate relationships with program participants, volunteers, visitors, and staff while establishing healthy and safe boundariesMaintaining a personal lifestyle of integrity, honesty, and responsibilityPraying with program participants, volunteers, guests, and staff Our Core Values: The Foundry models excellence in: Everything we do, we do unto God.We are passionate about our work.We set others up for success.We continuously improve.
