Armed School Safety Officer

Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Armed School Safety Officer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and security of our school environment through vigilant monitoring and swift response to emergencies. Key Responsibilities: Act as a first responder to emergencies, ensuring the safety of all individuals on campus. Conduct regular patrols of buildings, parking lots, and outdoor areas to identify and address any suspicious activities or security violations. Collaborate effectively with law enforcement and emergency response teams when necessary. Monitor student movement and behavior throughout the school while maintaining a supportive and safe environment. Perform checks on doors and security systems to maintain campus security; report any malfunctions promptly. Assist with traffic management and parking enforcement during school hours. Participate in safety drills and training sessions aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness. Document and report any incidents or observations that could affect school safety. Support security operations during school events to promote a safe atmosphere for all attendees. Provide assistance and support to school administrators when it comes to security-related issues. Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. - Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. - Maintain good physical condition for rapid emergency response. Work Schedule: This position can be either full-time or part-time, with shifts typically lasting 8 hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Experience: - Preferably 5 years of experience in armed security. License/Certification: - Armed SLED Card (preferred) - Driver's License (preferred) Work Location: This is an in-person position at our school campus.
