Job Details Location: Glenview, IL 60026 (Chicago suburbs) Position: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care RN – Travel RN (Night Shift) Assignment Length: 6 weeks (March 30, 2026 – May 11, 2026) Shift: 3x12 hour nights (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6 weekend shifts total) Estimated Weekly Salary: $1890-$1990/week Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU); may float to MICU or nearby hospitals (Skokie, Evanston, Highland Park) Patient Population: Adult cardiovascular and neurocritical care patients Unit Size / Census: 14-bed unit; average daily census ~7 EMR / Charting: EPIC Scrub Color: Royal Blue Required Qualifications – CVICU RN / Travel Nurse Minimum 5 years of recent CVICU RN experience caring for complex cardiovascular and neurocritical care patients Current and active RN license in Illinois (compact or state license as applicable) ACLS and BLS certifications required Travel RN experience required (previous travel assignments preferred) Strong EPIC charting skills preferred Ability to manage interventional neurocritical care and advanced cardiovascular cases Willingness to float between units and nearby hospital locations as needed Charge RN experience, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred Must pass EKG test on first attempt (84% or higher) Key Responsibilities – Cardiovascular ICU RN Provide expert critical care nursing for cardiovascular and neurocritical patients in a fast-paced CVICU Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately in EPIC Perform and manage advanced CVICU therapies and devices: ECMO, IABP, Impella, TAVR, CABG post-op care, LVAD/RVAD support, CRRT Administer and titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips, emergency medications, and sedation per protocol Manage mechanically ventilated patients, arterial lines, central lines, and other invasive monitoring Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physicians, and rapid response teams Float to MICU or other nearby facilities when patient-care needs arise Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and unit safety standards What You’ll Gain Short-term travel RN assignment in the Chicago suburbs with exposure to high-acuity cardiovascular and neurocritical care Opportunity to work with advanced cardiac devices and a skilled interdisciplinary team Professional growth for experienced Critical Care RNs, CVICU RNs, and Travel Nurses Access to suburban amenities, easy commute to Chicago, local dining, shopping, and parks for downtime Glenview, IL (60026) offers suburban charm with convenient access to downtown Chicago.
