About the roleSupervises the day-to-day service solutions of an assigned specialist team, Boston-Area field team, and/or sub-contractors to ensure trainings and services are delivered in a safe, compliant, and timely manner within budget. This role requires previous field service or management experience with knowledge in laboratory analytical equipment. Role is located in Boston, MA. 40% of travel within the continental US should be expected for this role. What you’ll do Supervises, plans, directs, and schedules day-to-day and long-range activities and ensures all programs and procedures of the Scientific Solutions field staff are being properly implemented. Reviews work to ensure compliance with performance, safety, statutory, and regulatory requirements, as well as with all company policies, standards, and procedures. Reviews and updates LIS equipment, maintenance and calibration procedures, and LTS (Laboratory Technical Services) procedures. Processes performance metrics; tracks, analyzes, and reports performance in terms of quality, safety, cost, and customer satisfaction. Takes corrective action to bring about required change and ensures contract requirements have been executed at a level above the specified standards. Handles contractor specifications, problems/issues, performance, and administration. Enable installation, repair, PM and IQ/OQ/PQ services on analytical instruments(e.g., Agilent, Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo, and/or Dionex) at customer location or in-house, with an emphasis on specialized high-end mass spectrometry systems. On-site service delivery to help ramp service delivery on specialized products. Maintains relationship with internal and external customers. Train customers and other service representatives on maintenance tasks for high-end chromatography and mass spectrometry systems. Identifies business opportunities, with specific focus on growing business around Boston. Performs a variety of tasks to enable CBRE company objectives Frequently assigns and manages difficult and escalated service jobs. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory responsibilitiesProvides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values. What you’ll need High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelors degree in science or electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred. Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training. Associates degree preferred in scientific field of study preferred or equivalent related work experience. Five years relevant field experience in laboratory and / or manufacturing pharmaceutical or equivalent regulated environments required. Knowledge of analytical instrument maintenance and / or laboratory technical services. Experience working with mass spectrometry highly desired. Previous supervisory experience required. Why CBRE? The minimum salary for the LIS Supervisor - Field Specialist position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for the LIS Supervisor - Field Specialist position is $170,000 position is annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
