How you'll contribute A Physical Therapist who excels in this role: Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs by implementing a written plan of care and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Provides educational information to patients in regard to injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy and rehabilitation therapy. Supervises physical therapist assistants in performing treatment. Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires. Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient. Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication. Is accessible to the PTA at all times during patient treatments. Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications. Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation. Adheres to policies and procedures. Maintains patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the department. What we're looking for Applicants should have a current Physical Therapy license to practice in NC and possess a bachelor's degree in related field required. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred. 1-3 years PT experience preferred. Additional requirements include: • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire. • Interpersonal and communication skills to enhance patient relations. • Critical thinking skills • Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
