Job Description: Job Title: Mainframe z/OS Admin Work Model: Onsite (5 days a week) OR Open to relocation Locations (in order of preference): 1) San Antonio 2) Austin 3) Houston 4) DallasRemote candidates considered only if they have a minimum of 15+ years in all required skillsetsSupplier Spotlight Call Notes Role Requirements: • Must have L3-level experience (preferably with exposure to L4-level mainframe responsibilities). • Relevant Job Titles: System Programmer or System Administrator. • Avoid: o Developer profiles (experience not relevant to administration). o Candidates with experience limited to mainframe operations batch/console monitoring (L1/L2 responsibilities). Required Expertise: • Architect-level knowledge (L3/L4). • Ability to manage z/OS operating system and related products. Required Experience: • Mainframe (MF) administration. • Hands-on experience installing z/OS operating systems and mainframe products. o Avoid profiles that have only assisted SMEs during z/OS upgrades or product installations (L1/L2 responsibilities). Candidate Must Demonstrate: • Strong operating system knowledge. • Experience installing products into SMP/E, z/OSMF, ISV product upgrade, USS and RMF. o Candidates must be able to explain their experience in detail, not just provide definitions. • LPAR patching and maintenance. • Parallel Sysplex configuration and management. Top Skills: - IBM z/OS (OS 2.2, 2.3) - Parallel Sysplex, SMPE, RMF, SMF, WLM - Understanding of System z architecture - z/OS MF Job Description/ Responsibilities: - Extremely familiar with IBM z/OS operating system (OS 2.2, 2.3) - Knowledge on Parallel Sysplex concepts - Experience mainframe LPAR builds - Strong experience in zOS version upgrades - Installation of patches and fixes - Installation and maintenance of ISV products - System parameters/parmlib maintenance - Managing incidents on z/OS related issues - zOS MF configuration and setup - z/OS performance monitoring and reporting Diverse Lynx LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
