JOB RESPONSIBILITES: Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work Tooling: Review converting machine schedules for the first shift. Communicate via face-to-face, radio, email, and teams with the Design & Tooling Manager, Senior Ink & Die Technician, Scheduler, Customer Service Representatives, Operators, and Supervisors. Supply converting machines with plates and cutting dies. Actively adjust Kiwi Planners tooling statuses throughout the day to provide a real-time reflection of where tooling is located. Review converting machine schedules with the Design & Tooling Manager and Scheduler for the third shift. Check in and examine new tooling and add tooling to inventory. The technician must understand whether the tooling is capable of effectively running on our machines. Return cutting dies and print plates into the inventory after production runs have been completed. Move damaged tooling to Door 4 for Vendor pickup. Move customer-supplied tooling returns to Shipping and advise Customer Service when handed over to Shipping. Assist the Senior Ink & Die Technician and converting supervisors with print plate and cutting die repairs. Assist the Ink and Die Technician with various department projects. Ink: Review converting machine schedules for the first shift. Communicate via face-to-face, radio, email, and teams with the Design & Tooling Manager, Senior Ink & Die Technician, Scheduler, Customer Service Representatives, Operators, and Supervisors. Dispense ink for production. For new inks, quality tests and swatch matches are done prior to adding the formulas to our NIX spectrometer libraries. Change out the ink dispenser valve head cleaning fluid daily. Label ink buckets. Supply converting machines with ink. Supply ink materials or adjusted formulas to lead operators or supervisors. Add new formulas to the ink dispenser. File ink swatches and formulas together in the ink and tooling office. Collaborate with the Senior Ink & Die Technician to order ink. Collaborate with the Senior Ink & Die Technician to receive ink orders and add ink to inventory. Conduct weekly and end-of-month ink inventory. Return the ink into the returned inventory after production runs have been completed. Assist the Ink & Die Technician with various department projects. Cleaning / PM's Clean up spills. Keep work area clean and well-organized. Clean Buckets. Additional Requirements Written/Verbal Communications Skills: Must follow detailed instructions for training and quality. Physical Requirements Required regularly to stand for long periods of time, and squat while lifting occasionally. Required to squat while lifting and flip sheets to restack units (up to 30lbs for a period up to 12 hours) Required to move safely while claiming steps Required to bend over and lift sheets from the bridge and from the platform Requires good vision (for operating PITs, using traffic mirrors and stop signs). Required continuous mental and visual attention (to keep product moving in the supply chain while maintaining accurate inventory transactions involving diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity). Required Experience: Education and Experience: A strong desire to learn and excel in fast-paced manufacturing Preferred candidates will have prior work experience in the corrugated industry Punctuality and a commitment to regular and predictable attendance Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others Dedication to always wearing safety gear Availability for overtime as needed Skills: Reading and Communication: Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical: Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math. Technical: Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation. Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, DEQ, EEO, and company policies.
