Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager Location: Hempstead, NY Compensation: $55,000-$75,000 (based on experience) + Health Insurance Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Status: Direct Hire Position Overview A growing distribution company in the automotive products industry is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to support daily warehouse operations and oversee a small team. This role blends leadership with hands-on work and requires someone who is reliable, organized, and comfortable stepping into multiple functions as needed. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support a team of approximately four warehouse employees Assist with daily warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks Move, organize, and maintain inventory throughout the warehouse Ensure safe and efficient handling of automotive fluid products and chemical additives Coordinate with drivers and step in to drive a company van locally when needed Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant warehouse environment Communicate with management regarding workflow, staffing needs, and operational issues Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall warehouse efficiency Qualifications Previous warehouse experience required; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, loading, and moving inventory Valid driver's license and comfort driving a company van for local deliveries when needed Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $55,000.00 - $75,000.00
