Salary: $17.42 - $20.78 Hourly Location : Public Works Facility Burnsville, MN Job Type: Seasonal Job Number: 2026-00396 Department: Public Works - Parks Opening Date: 02/02/2026 Position Details As a Seasonal Maintenance II worker in our Parks Department, you will assist staff with a variety of park maintenance tasks and safely operate City vehicles and equipment while also taking on more advanced responsibilities and working independently. Ideal candidates will have experience in park maintenance or similar roles. Our Public Works Department is a dedicated team of talented individuals who work together to make normal happen for those who live, work, and play in Burnsville. Your efforts will help keep the city running smoothly and efficiently by supporting the operation and maintenance of our infrastructure. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position with a starting wage range of $17.42-$20.78 per hour, depending on qualifications. Both full-time and part-time hours are available with the following schedules: Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday-Sunday: 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. How you'll use your strengths every day The Seasonal Maintenance II - Parks worker values people and perspectives by: Assisting with the maintenance of City parks for the use and enjoyment of the community. Maintaining athletic fields, beaches, playgrounds, and picnic areas. They are on the leading edge when they: Assisting with mowing, turf maintenance, and weed trimming. Supporting landscaping, park development, and special projects. And they expect the best by: Safely operating city vehicles and equipment such as mowers, pickup trucks, and hand and power tools. Assisting staff with various park maintenance tasks. What you'll bring to help you be successfulMiniumum Qualifications: Must be 17 years of age or older. Must have park or other relevant experience. Possess a valid Class D Driver's License or be eligible to obtain one. Have a background or interest in local government work and serving the community.
