Position is open until filled.General Summary: Provide support to recreation staff for the development and implementation of the department's special events. NOTE: Hours vary dependent on the event schedule. Hours will not exceed 1040 each year. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Offer on-site help with event set-up and take-down, information and material distribution at the event and event activity support. Purchase event supplies. Create/update event materials. Assist with event planning by securing facilities and contacts with performers. Assist with recruiting volunteers. Assist with creating/updating event signage, banners and directional signs. QUALIFICATIONSMust be 18 years or older Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to work evenings and weekends Commitment to excellent customer service. Strong organizational skills. Computer experience, preferably in Active Net, Word, Excel and Publisher. Able to lift 30 pounds. Current First Aid/CPR certification required, onsite training will be provided if not certified Employment contingent upon successfully passing State/Federal pre-employment background checks. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONEnvironmental Conditions Community center/indoor and outdoor recreational facility environment; may travel from site to site; exposure to computer screen, noisy, potentially hostile environments; inclement weather conditions; schedule may vary including evenings and weekends. Physical conditions Moderate to light lifting and carrying.
