The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Neurosurgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support Neurosurgical services located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin at the Froedtert South FPPH Campus. MCW Department of Neurosurgery will advance the field of neurological surgery through world-class care, groundbreaking research, and innovative education. Position Highlights: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention in blended environment as a member of the Neurosurgery Service. Writes accurate and timely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transfer orders. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documents information. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the neurosurgical services. Facilitates and communicates with patient, family, and staff to promote continuity of care across the continuum of care. Attend required training and meets key regulatory requirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, and the Join Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients receiving care of this team through participation in the development of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on the most current development and trends in the Physician Assistant field and/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs, in-services, professional associates, and current literature. Works in both the ambulatory and inpatient environments. Our renowned team utilizes both surgical and non-surgical methods to treat disorders in the skull, brain, spine, spinal cord, spinal nerves, and peripheral nerves. Qualifications: Preferred Experience: 2+ years of APP experience or relevant neurosurgical experience Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization. Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
