Job Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Cable Inspector in Oldsmar, FL for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role is focused on inspecting cable products, identifying non-conformances, and supporting resolution of quality issues. You will inspect to specifications and work instructions, use a range of measuring devices, and interface with assemblers, engineers, and management while maintaining strong documentation and communication. Required Skills Strong background in cable manufacturing and inspection Experience with soldered and crimp inspection on cables using IPC-A-620 standards Detail-oriented and proficient at interpreting drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control/reference documents, and work instructions Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface with assemblers, test technicians, engineers, customers, and management Proficient with personal computers and newer applications Must be able to read and write English No degree required Must take and pass a medical screening exam as outlined in the supplier guide Willingness and ability to perform assembly tasks related to assigned inspection areas as needed Preferred Skills Experience using statistical process or other control procedures to monitor and verify quality What You'll Do Inspect cables using predetermined methods, operations, and specifications Use measuring devices such as dial indicators, preset micrometers, and scales Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems Work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures Communicate with assemblers, engineers, and management to resolve quality issues Perform assembly tasks related to assigned inspection areas as needed Work Schedule / Shift 2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (Mon-Thurs) Training to be completed on first shift.
