Job Description

Job Summary (List Format) - Occupational Therapist - Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer Occupational Therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician. - Provide all aspects of patient care with a focus on patient safety and reducing medical errors. - Deliver Occupational Therapy evaluations and treatments, especially in outpatient rehabilitation settings. - Apply best practices and latest evidence for common upper quadrant pathologies (degenerative conditions, neurologic impairments, orthopedics, post-op care). - Proficient in treatment techniques such as manual therapy, neuro-rehab, exercise modalities, and functional activities. - Administer treatments to restore function and prevent disability after injury, disease, or physical disability. - Help patients reach maximum performance and function within their capabilities. - Observe, evaluate, and adjust treatments, recommending changes to physicians as needed. - Perform appropriate patient evaluations, assessments, and reassessments across all age groups. - Assess and address patient pain impacting rehabilitation, communicating with physicians as needed. - Develop and implement patient/family teaching plans; evaluate learning effectiveness. - Treat patients and families with respect, addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs. - Operate and manage equipment safely; maintain department cleanliness and safety. - Involve patients and families in care planning; communicate professionally with all parties. - Coordinate and direct patient care in adherence to hospital policy. - Collaborate with other departments for patient care and performance improvement. - Supervise Occupational Therapy assistants, aides, students, and applicants. - Maintain accurate departmental records and clinical documentation. - Assist with staff orientation and in-service training. - Participate in educational and guidance programs. - Utilize approved abbreviations in documentation. - Ensure timely and accurate entry of patient charges. Requirements: - BLS (AHA) certification (required) - Licensed Occupational Therapist with New Hampshire eligibility (required) - Graduate from accredited Occupational Therapy program (required) - Outpatient Occupational Therapy experience (strongly preferred)
