Job Title: Safety Manager Location: Lansing, MI Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 weeks Type: 1099 ContractorCompensation: ? Rate: $48 - $52/hr ? Per Diem: $125/day ? Pay Frequency: Weekly Schedule: ? Hours: 60 hours/week ? Schedule: Monday - Saturday ? Shift: Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Project Scope: This position provides full-time safety oversight during electrical conduit installation and conveyor system buildout at an operational Amazon site. The Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with LOTO procedures, electrical safety practices, and Amazon-specific EHS policies. Work will involve collaboration with subcontractors and adapting to the clients West's reporting requirements and protocols. Qualifications: ✠BA in Health & Safety + 3 years of experience OR ✠CSP or CHST + 5 years of experience OR ✠OSHA 500 + 7 years of experienceAdditional Requirements: ✠Active Workers' Compensation policy (required for 1099s) ✠Personal laptop/tablet for safety documentation ✠Willing to purchase and use 3" LOTO locks and tags ✠Familiarity with Amazon EHS policies and documentation systems Key Responsibilities: Oversee site safety for conduit and conveyor system installations Enforce LOTO procedures and maintain electrical safety compliance Conduct daily audits, inspections, and safety walks Coordinate with field teams and subcontractors to ensure hazard controls are in place Submit reports in line with Amazon and the clients West documentation protocols Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and training refreshers as needed Skills: Strong working knowledge of electrical hazard controls, LOTO protocols, and barrier placement Experience navigating Amazon safety standards Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage site-level compliance in an active facility Knowledge Base: Expertise in OSHA 1926 and 1910 standards, with a focus on electrical safety, control of hazardous energy (LOTO), and conveyor system installation risks.
