Job InformationTitle: Employee Health and Wellness Nurse Department: Nursing Position Classification/Category: Clinical Location: Customer Care Center Reports To: AVP-Nursing Direct Reports: None Summary of Position The Employee Health and Wellness Nurse is responsible for promoting and maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of employees. This role focuses on preventive care, health education, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Director of Human Resources to establish goals and maintain compliance related to occupational health. Perform pre-employment, volunteer health screenings, and provide recommendations prior to employment. Assist employees with leave of absence and ensure safe return to work, including managing restrictions or conditions. Schedule and conduct annual health screenings for employees and volunteers; update vaccinations (e.g., PPD, Hepatitis B). Support employees in setting health goals and monitor progress. Maintain accurate employee and volunteer health records and monitor compliance. Advocate for preventive health care programs through education and follow-up. Oversee employee health protocols related to exposure and injury, including reporting, follow-up, and return-to-work recommendations. Manage bloodborne exposure protocols and follow-up. Assist the wellness coordinator with health promotion activities and screenings. Participate in special projects as directed by administration. Perform first aid measures when indicated. Administer venipuncture, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections. Store, log, and maintain vaccine supply using NCIR. Other duties as assigned. Employee TrainingBasic Life Support Instruction. Provides training for infectious disease and environmental safety. QualificationsNorth Carolina or Compact state licensure LPN Experience in occupational health, employee wellness, or related field preferred. Strong knowledge of health promotion, disease prevention, and workplace safety. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. Basic Life Support Instructor Certification (or will obtain upon employment) Physical DemandsAbility to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Manual dexterity and intact auditory and visual sensory skills. May require working outdoors or within mobile units. To employ an interdisciplinary team approach in collaboration with other community providers to provide a continuum of appropriate patient/family-oriented care in a cost-effective manner.
