Home-School Support Specialist Northglade Montessori Magnet School (.5) $14,254 - $17,693 (half-time salary) 10-month, Part-Time This position is 20 hours per week Scope of Responsibilities The Home-School Support Specialist facilitates the collaboration and communication between the home and the school and assists in removing barriers to improve achievement for identified students. Performance Responsibilities Facilitates the participation of parents in decisions that impact their children's academic performance. Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of home support plans. Participates as a building team member to maximize services for identified students. Identifies resources for the provision of staff and parent training opportunities. Utilizes existing district and community family support programs to coordinate service delivery to identified students and their families Maintains records of parent participation, school-to-home, and home-to-school contacts. Completes and submit Time and Effort Reports (i.e., Monthly Federal Certification Forms and Personnel Activity Reports) and/or any reports as required. Leads attendance efforts in the school. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or accredited equivalency. Completion of college coursework and experience in education, criminal justice, social work, and/or human services. Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with students, staff, and families in diverse/multicultural settings. Demonstrated ability to maintain and support relationships with identified students and families. Monitor and evaluate student/family plans. Demonstrated ability to identify common student/family problems and recommend appropriate intervention. Ability to advise/advocate for students and families. Knowledge of community agencies and human services resources. Ability to work with groups. Reliable transportation. Evidence of desirable work record (i.e., low absenteeism, good job performance, flexibility). Desirable Qualifications 1.
