Dietary Aide

DescriptionPart Time- 12pm-8pm & 4pm-8pmJob Summary: Responsible for all input, distribution, and printing involving the Meal Tracker Menu System and serves as a direct liaison between the residents and the dietary department, and assure resident safety. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Input select menus daily Print tray tickets, production sheets, and nourishment labels daily Print daily select menus for rehab unit and personally distribute to the residents Distribute dietary satisfaction surveys to new admissions on day 3 of their stay Print weekly select menus for LTC and Memory Care units and take to the units on Tuesday Check boxes on units daily Input Dietary Communication slips and any changes into computer program Assist residents in filling out their menus as needed Attend all facility and dietary mandatory inservices Assure resident safety at all times. Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements: Must pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse (Learn more: Must be able to sit and work at computer for long periods Must be willing and able to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily when necessary, for example as Dietary Aide Must follow department dress code and wear clean uniform, clean shoes, a hairnet or cap inside kitchen and disposable gloves when handling food. Must wear name tag at all times when on John Knox Village property Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position Must be free from all communicable diseases and in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be able to sit, stand, lift (up to 50 lbs. ), bend, squat, and move intermittently during working hours Must have basic computer skills. Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift, stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell. Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
