Job Description

HiFyve is hiring a Casting Finisher in the Manufacturing industry in Jefferson County, WI! Pay Rate: $19 - $21/hr plus $0.50 shift difference Location: Jefferson County, WI Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift Key Responsibilities: Remove excess materials, burrs, and imperfections from metal castings using specialized tools. Utilize a variety of equipment including small portable grinders, hand files, and belt grinders. Securely position castings on benches or work tables for finishing operations. Analyze castings to determine which materials need to be removed to meet quality standards. Work primarily on standard or routine castings that have been repaired by welding. Ensure all finished parts meet dimensional and aesthetic requirements before moving to the next stage of production. Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience: Prior experience removing excess materials with a grinder is preferred, but the company is willing to train highly motivated individuals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely operate portable grinders, belt sanders, and various hand tools. Planning: Strong prioritizing and planning skills to manage workflow efficiently. Autonomy: Ability to work effectively with little to no supervision once trained. Attention to Detail: Ability to identify defects and excess material that must be removed per specification. Reliability: A strong work ethic and commitment to shift schedules. Physical Requirements: Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Endurance: Ability to stand for the duration of the shift in a manufacturing environment. Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and arms to manipulate tools and position castings. Environment: Comfortable working in a shop setting where grinding dust and noise are present (PPE provided).
