ServiceNow/CMDB Architect or Lead

Position: ServiceNow/CMDB Architect or Lead Location: Buffalo, NY- Remote Duration: 6+ Months We are seeking a highly skilled CMDB Architect to lead the design and implementation of a robust Configuration Management Database (CMDB) using ServiceNow for a hospital system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITIL processes, and integrating asset and configuration management within complex healthcare environments. This role requires a deep understanding of hospital IT infrastructure, biomedical devices, compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA), and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless implementation and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities CMDB Design and Implementation rchitect the CMDB structure, including CI classes, relationships, and attributes, tailored to the hospital system's requirements. Define and implement a scalable CMDB model in ServiceNow, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify critical CIs, attributes, and dependencies, including biomedical equipment, IT infrastructure, and applications. Develop detailed technical and process documentation for the CMDB implementation. Integration and Data Management Integrate ServiceNow CMDB with existing tools (e.g., discovery tools, asset management systems, biomedical databases). Define data sources and ensure accurate migration of asset and configuration data into the CMDB. Establish data reconciliation processes to maintain CMDB integrity and prevent duplication. Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to integrate the CMDB with hospital systems such as EHRs, PACS, and monitoring tools. Governance and Compliance Design and implement governance policies to maintain CMDB data quality and integrity. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and hospital-specific security standards. Define access controls and audit trails for sensitive data stored in the CMDB. Stakeholder Collaboration and Training Work closely with IT, clinical engineering, and operations teams to gather requirements and align CMDB capabilities with organizational goals. Provide training and support to internal teams for effective use and maintenance of the CMDB. ct as the primary liaison between hospital leadership and technical teams for CMDB-related initiatives. Reporting and Optimization Develop and maintain ServiceNow dashboards and reports for CMDB metrics, such as data accuracy and CI relationships. Continuously evaluate the CMDB's performance and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure the CMDB supports ITSM processes, such as incident, problem, and change management. Required Qualifications Technical Skills Extensive experience in ServiceNow CMDB implementation and administration. Strong understanding of ITIL processes (certification preferred). Proficiency in designing CI relationships and dependencies for complex IT and biomedical environments. Hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules such as Discovery, Asset Management, and Event Management. Familiarity with integrating third-party tools and APIs with ServiceNow. Healthcare Experience Knowledge of hospital IT infrastructure, biomedical devices, and healthcare compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA). Experience with hospital systems such as EHRs, PACS, and monitoring systems is a strong advantage. Other Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in creating technical documentation and governance frameworks. Preferred Qualifications ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - CMDB or equivalent certification. ITIL v4 certification. Experience in healthcare-specific IT systems and environments.
