Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical Date Posted: 1/20/2026 Location: SOUTHWOOD Title: Building Attendance Clerk Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Job related experience is recommended Reports To: Building administration or designee FLSA Status: non-exempt Performance Responsibilities: Assist Head Secretary with a variety of tasks (e.g. time clock issues, leave slips, entry of all corrections, submitting information to payroll department, etc.) for providing historical documentation, completing necessary procedures, in compliance with established administrative guidelines. Communicate with staff, students, administrators for providing information and direction. Compile data for substitutes (e.g. absences, school hour logs, work/lesson plans, sub folders, keys, etc.) for preparing materials needed for substitute personnel. Coordinate office activities (e.g. greeting visitors, answering phones, writing late slips, receiving lunch monies, supervising lost and found, assisting students and staff with phone calls, etc.) for completing processes and delivering services in a timely fashion. Manage attendance processes (e.g. late slips, staff absences, activity/sports lists/sign out sheets, attendance caller report, daily classroom attendance, flex time, in-service time, late slips, early dismissal slips, etc.) for conveying, gathering and filing required attendance processes. Oversee telephone system (e.g. providing answers to all calls, etc.) for maintaining optimal communication with school. Oversee software systems for documenting activities, providing written reference, and conveying information. Respond to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. district staff, other departments and divisions, government agencies, public, students, etc.) for providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
