Other duties as assigned. Manages budgets and resources efficiently to meet financial and operational goals. Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns and provide guidance. Assists in developing, implementing, and evaluating ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care. Fosters a culture of psychological safety, where the team members feel supported, valued, empowered to speak up, share concerns, and contribute meaningfully. Promotes evidence-based practice, ensuring quality outcomes, and fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous learning. Provides ongoing education and training to nursing staff to maintain high competency levels. Prepares the unit for audits and surveys, by monitoring and maintaining unit compliance with regulatory standards, accrediting, hospital policies while coordinating staff education to maintain competencies and preparedness. Manages nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care. Manages assigned direct reports including recruitment, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, development, education, competencies, performance evaluations, and payroll functions Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance and positive employee relations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Peripheral Intravenous Access Validation [Required]• PICC Validation [Required]• Port Validation [Required]• ACLS, PALS, NRP as defined by unit competencies [Preferred]• Excellent organization and interpersonal communication skills [Required]• Basic computer skills [Required]• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]• Problem solving and critical thinking skills [Required]• Organizational Skills, ability to prioritize [Required]• Skilled in the identification and prevention of potential areas of risk [Required]• Knowledge and ability to work with personal computers, software, and special applications [Required]• Ability and willingness to adapt to changing priorities [Required]• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required]• Valid AHA Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements [Required]• Skill and proficiency in applying highly technical principles, concepts, and techniques which are central to the nursing profession [Required]Education:• Associate's of Nursing [Required]• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]Field of Study:• N/AWork Experience:• 1+ in acute hospital care setting [Preferred]• 1+ in vascular access [Preferred]Additional Information:• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
