This is a 3-month contract with a possible extension, with competitive pay and benefits. This is an onsite role. Location - Sarasota, FL (34238) Pay range - $40 - $45 an Hour on a W2. Length of assignment - 3 months (With Possible extension) Shift - Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (occasional hours past 5 if needed) Job Summary The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all Payroll functions, including reconciling and submitting payroll taxes, state unemployment, and garnishments. Oversee Payroll Specialists. Ancillary responsibilities include specific knowledge of payroll balancing, FLSA and Wage & Hour Laws, depository procedures, proof of transit, positive pay, and general ledger accounting, to include various journal entries and management of Payroll Specialist staff. Job Duties • Oversee the selection, training, development, motivation, discipline, and evaluation of department employees for the purpose of maximizing effectiveness and efficiency. • Ensures all personnel management practices comply with Fair Labor Standards Act, Wage & Hour laws, the client's Health personnel policies and procedures, and other applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations as may be in effect from time to time. • Directs the process of recording employee hours and disbursing costs to proper accounts. • Directs the review and audit of Personnel Action Forms. • Finalize the process for employee-related garnishments, IRS levies, child support orders, and other court orders. • Overseas direct deposit setup or change requests and confirm information with the financial institution. • Prepare and download weekly FTE reports. • Oversees the bi-weekly accrual and balance of Paid Time Off after each pay period and generates reports to all departments/teams. • Processes finalization and transmission of bi-weekly Payroll to financial institutions. • Prepares and transmits or disburses bi-weekly federal and state payroll taxes and other deductions. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university; or five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Must have 6-9 years of experience. • Payroll management experience preferred. • Experience with payroll software applications. • Familiarity and detailed knowledge of general accounting principles. • CPP certification preferred. • Must have a valid Driver's License. • Must have reliable transportation, which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion. • Must provide proof of automobile insurance.
