Diesel Technician - Columbus

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severe-service vehicles, and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop. The primary duties of a Diesel Technician include performing diagnostic tests to find faults, analyzing diagnostic results, and making necessary repairs. Running diagnostic tests on vehicles. Analyzing diagnostic test results. Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems, ETC Checking vehicle lighting systems. Test driving vehicles to gauge performance. Performing preventative maintenance. Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles. Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist. Maintaining a parts inventory. Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop. Perform other related duties as assigned Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent required Heavy Duty Diesel Technician experience Clean Valid Drivers License Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. Specifically: Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, reach and lift.
