Sr Digital Hardware Engineer (Confidential) Rochester, NY 9/80 Work Week (Every other Friday off) Our client is seeking a Sr Digital Hardware Engineer to join their team in Rochester, NY. This is a critical role within an industry-leading team focused on the design and delivery of advanced software-defined communication systems for global partners. As a senior-level contributor, you will lead the digital hardware lifecycle-from initial research and schematic capture to prototyping and factory implementation. You will be at the forefront of mission-critical innovation, working with high-speed interfaces and complex system integrations that ensure secure global connectivity. Key Responsibilities Hardware Design & Architecture: Lead digital hardware research, simulation, and development for advanced communication platforms. Technical Execution: Perform schematic capture, oversee complex PWB/flexible circuit layout design, and manage component selection. Testing & Validation: Utilize high-end lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators) to establish operating data and evaluate experimental results. Cross-Functional Integration: Collaborate with FPGA, DSP, RF, and embedded firmware teams to ensure seamless subsystem integration. Project Leadership: Prioritize tasks based on technical challenges and business impact, ensuring designs are feasible within cost and time constraints. Operational Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for production and manufacturing to ensure continuous revenue generation. Qualifications Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant hardware design experience. Graduate Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of prior related experience. Technical Skills: Proficient in high-level programming languages to configure logic devices and control electrical circuits. Lab Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with high-speed digital interface measurement and testing. Security: Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance. No Sponsorship Available for this role Preferred Skills Experience with state-of-the-art high-speed protocols (USB, Gb Ethernet, PCIe, etc.). Strong understanding of emerging digital design trends and new component capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to mentor and work within large-scale engineering teams. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000(Determined by experience and qualifications). Relocation: Comprehensive relocation assistance is available.
