Electrical Engineer Location: Oak Ridge, TN Experience: 10+ Years Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 (commensurate with experience) Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Education Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering (required) Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 10+ years of experience to support a wide range of multidisciplinary engineering projects. This role involves electrical system design for water treatment and electrochemical process equipment, including PLC-controlled skid-mounted systems. The position supports both client-driven projects and internal R&D and pilot testing efforts, contributing from concept development through commercialization and implementation. The ideal candidate will have strong technical depth in electrical engineering while maintaining working knowledge of related engineering disciplines to effectively support project and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and support electrical engineering efforts for water treatment and electrochemical process equipment, including PLC-controlled skid systems. Design electrical systems utilizing industrial AC and moderate-voltage DC components. Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, documentation, and materials required for commercialization of new equipment systems. Participate in client meetings to understand technical requirements and project objectives. Contribute to proposal development, pricing strategies, cost estimating for electrical components, and budgeting. Perform detailed electrical system and component design, review design drawings, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Design and specify system instrumentation, PLCs, and control systems. Support fabrication, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities, including periodic shop-floor assistance. Develop operating manuals, procedures, and technical documentation. Collaborate across disciplines, including instrumentation, environmental compliance, process engineering, and mechanical engineering. Provide project management support as needed, balancing technical and client requirements. Attend trade shows, technical meetings, and industry conferences as required. Support domestic projects primarily within the U.S.; occasional international travel may be required (typically less than 25%). Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering roles. Strong experience with electrical system design for industrial equipment or process systems. Proficiency with: Microsoft Office 365 AutoCAD (LT or Full) or similar CAD platforms Experience with: Project management Technical proposal development Budget development and cost management Hands-on experience with research, design, testing, and analysis of plant, process, or equipment systems. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering environments. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience in water treatment, electrochemistry, or process equipment design. Background in design management and plant/process engineering. Experience working in an engineering firm or commercial industrial environment. Familiarity with environmental regulations impacting electrical and process system design. Work Environment & Travel Collaborative engineering environment with cross-functional teams. Travel typically less than 25%, primarily within the United States, with occasional international opportunities. Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 Per Year
