Medical Check-Out Representative (Physician Office)Hours M-F 8am-5pmPosition Summary The Medical Check-Out Representative is responsible for completing the patient visit process by ensuring accurate scheduling, payment collection, and patient education at the conclusion of each appointment. This role is critical to patient satisfaction and revenue cycle accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment. Key Responsibilities Greet patients at check-out in a friendly, professional manner Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing as directed by providers Input doctor's orders Review and explain visit summaries, after-visit instructions, and next steps Verify insurance information and confirm coverage for upcoming services Process payments accurately (cash, credit card, checks) and balance daily receipts Answer patient questions regarding billing, appointments, and office policies Coordinate with clinical staff, billing, and referrals departments Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) Ensure patient flow remains efficient in a high-volume office setting Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience in a medical office, front desk, or patient services role preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance basics (PPO, HMO, Medicare, Medicaid) Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment Comfortable using EMR systems and practice management software
