NOTES: Need to be able to go into the office on occasion in downtown Omaha. May be once a week to a few times a month. The level or responsibility this person will have will depend on their level of experience. the hiring manager currently manages the Hitachi environment but if this person has good Hitachi experience, they may be pulled in there as well. Basically, if they are an admin they will do admin stuff, if they are more of an engineer they will be pulled into higher level tasks. they want to be able to hire this person on full time eventually. Job Description: We are looking for a versatile Storage Engineer/Administrator to manage and optimize our NetApp and Hitachi storage environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in day-to-day administration and higher-level engineering tasks, with a focus on automation using Ansible. Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day administration of NetApp storage systems, including traditional file management. Assist in higher-level engineering tasks, such as total NetApp refresh and Proof of Concept (POC) projects like tiering into the cloud. Manage multi-site applications and ensure efficient data replication and failover processes. Utilize Ansible for automation tasks, including maintaining and improving existing scripts. Collaborate on the care and feeding of the database, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Provide support and training for Hitachi storage systems as needed. Skills: Strong experience with NetApp storage technologies; Hitachi experience is a bonus but not required. Proficiency in automation tools, specifically Ansible. Ability to understand and improve existing automation scripts and processes. Experience with multi-site application management and data replication. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred. Experience ranging from junior to senior level in storage administration, depending on the candidate's expertise. Relevant certifications such as NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE) are preferred.
