WESTLAND TECHNOLOGIESJob DescriptionManufacturing Procurement Manager - Salary range 80,000 - 100,000SUMMARY Reporting to the Sr. Manager, SIOP, the Manufacturing Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all procurement and sourcing activities in support of Westland’s manufacturing operations. This role owns both the strategic and tactical execution of procurement, including demand-driven purchasing, supplier management, cost reduction initiatives, and ERP transaction execution. The Procurement Lead partners closely with Planning, Production Control, Inventory, Operations, and Accounting to ensure material availability, inventory accuracy, financial integrity, and supplier performance. This position plays a key role in translating SIOP forecasts and order backlog into effective purchasing strategies while maintaining compliance with ISO9001, customer flow-down requirements, and internal controls. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for both developing procurement strategy and executing day-to-day purchasing activities, including creation and management of purchase orders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProcurement & Purchasing ExecutionCreate, release, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system Monitor and manage open purchase orders, deliveries, and past-due items Expedite critical materials to prevent production disruptions Coordinate with Receiving and Accounting to ensure accurate receipts, pricing, and invoice reconciliation Support period close activities including accruals, commitments, and reconciliations Planning & Forecast AlignmentTranslate SIOP forecasts, production schedules, and order backlog into procurement plans Develop and maintain supplier forecasts and stocking strategies Ensure appropriate inventory levels through effective safety stock and replenishment planning Partner with Planning and Production Control to proactively mitigate shortages and supply risks Strategic Sourcing & Supplier ManagementLead sourcing strategy and supplier selection activities Negotiate pricing, contracts, stocking agreements, and payment terms Establish and maintain long-term supplier relationships Monitor supplier performance including cost, quality, and on-time delivery Conduct supplier risk assessments and develop alternate/dual sourcing where appropriate Drive cost reduction and working capital improvement initiatives Compliance & SystemsOwn and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) Ensure supplier documentation including NDAs, certifications, and agreements are current Ensure compliance with ISO9001 requirements and customer flow-down provisions Support internal and external audits as required Maintain accurate ERP data including vendor records, pricing, and lead times Develop and improve procurement processes and standard work Cross-Functional SupportCollaborate with Inventory Control to support cycle counts and inventory accuracy Partner with Operations and Engineering on material requirements and new product introductions Support make vs. buy decisions and materials strategy Provide reporting and analysis on procurement KPIs METRICS & PERFORMANCE INDICATORSOn-time supplier delivery Inventory availability and stockouts Purchase price variance and cost savings Inventory turns / working capital Cycle count accuracy support Forecast alignment and material readiness EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE4+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment Experience with ERP/MRP systems required (Business Central, Deltek, or similar) Experience with supplier negotiations and contract management Working knowledge of inventory control and production planning concepts Understanding of ISO9001 or regulated manufacturing environments preferred SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSStrong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Excellent communication and negotiation skills High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools Comfortable working both on the manufacturing floor and in office environments PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to sit, stand, walk, kneel and occasionally bend and move about the facility Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Frequent communication with internal teams and suppliers WORK ENVIRONMENT Time is spent between a typical office environment and a manufacturing environment with normal noise, lighting, and temperature conditions.
