Performs intermediate skilled administrative work scheduling convalescent calls for EMS, completing reports, reviewing reports, billing, and processing payments. Ensure that daily schedules are correct, and trucks are staffed daily. Assist in requesting extra units if needed. Monitor the times that the BLS units are on scene at appointments. Contact facilities directly to advise the unit is there and can only wait 1 hour. Assist the Billing Manager with accepting, processing, and posting payments. Assist in QA Patient care reports ensuring the information is accurate coordinate corrections being made by the provider, as needed. Verify demographic sheets and PCS Forms from hospitals are attached to each ticket. Notify the hospital to retrieve any missing tickets. Provide customer service to clients by answering questions and concerns, transfer calls, etc. SUPERVISION: Received: Works under the Supervision of the EMS Operations Director. Supervision Given: (If supervisor list positions supervised) Position has no supervisory responsibilities. INTERPERSONAL CONTACT: • Reasoning ability - solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. • Ability to motivate members to achieve goals and act effectively in emergency and stressful situations. • Interact with internal customer such as Law enforcement, EMS, Building Inspections, Environmental Health, 9-1-1 communications, Public Health Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Social Services, maintenance and occasionally the Board of Commissioners. • Interact with external customers such as Fire Departments, Rescue Squads, ATF, OSFM, District Attorney, Contractors, Office of Emergency Management, Forestry, Red Cross, Medial, UNC Healthcare, Businesses Highway Patrol, SBI, Municipal Law Enforcement, and various community groups. Physical Activities, Visual Acuity, and Working Conditions for this Position. Physical Activities of This Position Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. License or Certification Requirements: • None The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program is intended to encourage individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in public service jobs. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance For Full Time employees in a regular position, insurance is available and effective the first day of the following month after having worked for an entire month. The County currently pays 100% of the cost for regular employees working at least 30 hours per week. Dependent coverage is also available. Bereavement Local Government Retirement System All employees in regular full or part time position are required to contribute to the retirement system. Contributions are taken on a pre-tax basis. The current contribution amount is 6%. Supplemental Retirement Plans NC 401(k)- Employees have the option of making contributions on a pre or post tax basis to a 401(k) and on a pre tax basis to a a 457(b) plan. Contributions will be matched by the county, up to 1% or their annual base salary. Other Insurance Insurance such as life, short term disability, and cancer care are available to regular employees and can be paid through payroll deduction.
