Key Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join our team. This role is ideal for a QC inspector ready to take the next step in their career into a leadership position. Overseeing daily quality inspection activities and performing QC inspection duties as required by our production schedule as well as ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and standards and assisting with maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Manage a small quality team, conduct inspections, monitor quality metrics, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest product and process standards. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement, ensuring cycle time efficiency of work while coaching others, and leadership. After 90 days of performance demonstrated, the candidate would be re-evaluated for transition into Manager. Leadership & Team Management Supervise and mentor a small team of quality inspectors. Assign, monitor, and review inspection tasks to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Provide training and coaching to enhance the technical skills and inspection capabilities of the QC team. Support and/or perform QC inspection duties based on available capacity and the needs of the production schedule. Quality Control & Inspection Perform in-process, first article, and final inspections using precision measurement tools (CMM, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.). Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and customer quality requirements. Document and report inspection results in accordance with internal procedures. Collaborate with production teams to resolve nonconformance issues and recommend corrective actions. Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements. Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits, including customer and certification body audits. Manage nonconformance, corrective action, and preventive action processes. Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, calibration logs, and training records. Continuous Improvement Analyze quality trends and implement initiatives to improve processes, reduce scrap/rework, and enhance product quality. Partner with engineering and production to ensure manufacturability and process capability. Recommend and implement new inspection technologies or methods to improve efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a QC inspector in a precision machining or manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality standards (formal training preferred). Proficiency in CMM programming/operation and use of manual inspection tools. Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading. Previous leadership or mentoring experience a plus. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and quality software applications. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Leadership capability with a collaborative and team-focused mindset. High level of integrity and commitment to quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. High school diploma or GED Post-secondary technical training Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods. Capability to lift, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 pounds. Dexterity to use hand tools and operate machinery effectively. Proficiency in using computers for programming and documentation. Measures of Performance On time performance of first piece and final inspection of all routed work. Low to no quality escapes to the customer caused by manufacturing or inspection issues. Proper maintenance and auditing of all Non-conformance and Corrective Action Reporting. Calibration maintenance of all inspection tools.
