The Customer Service Division is responsible for the accurate billing and collection of all services provided by Orange County Utilities while providing courteous and efficient customer service to one of fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. The Division is composed of eight different teams (Billing, Call Center, Cash, Customer Information Systems, Credit & Collections, Development, Dispatch & Meter Services) that work collaboratively and closely coordinate efforts to deliver outstanding service. The Division¿s Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) application is the heart of the Orange County Utilities Customer Information System (CIS). The Customer Service Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of ¿(Business Unit) ¿ Information Systems Administrator¿. The position will lead the Customer Information Systems Team and will act as the Project Sponsor for all Customer Service-related information technology projects. The position is responsible for project management, IT solutions procurement, budgeting, implementation and technical knowledge ensuring the proper maintenance, upgrade, and replacement of components essential to Customer Service. Job Description General Functions : Responsible for the direction and management of the department's information technology needs in a client server environment. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Division Manager or designee. Representative Duties/Assignments : Leads the day-to-day activities of the CIS team in support of projects and production support. Analyzes existing systems and researches new applications, recommending and implementing changes to improve customer service levels. Manages upgrades and new project implementations. Conducts procurement research, prepares Request for Purchase (RFPs) and other documents and participates in contract negotiations for all needed CIS solutions. Coordinates with procurement, ISS, and other teams in the proper selection and implementation of Customer Service IT solutions. Works with the IT and Engineering teams to investigate and pursue IT solutions for the Division and the Department. Plans and submits Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budget requirements. Develops short and long range plans for the information systems needs of the Customer Service division. Responsible for the coordination and integration of the Customer Service division's hardware/software needs. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor¿s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field and six (6) years of experience in Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
