Real Estate Controller

A real estate company is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple real estate entities. This role is responsible for managing banking, cash flow, multi-entity bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting, compliance, and detailed financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong real estate accounting experience and the ability to provide accurate, portfolio-level financial insights to leadership. Responsibilities Include: Overseeing accounting operations across multiple real estate entities Managing banking relationships, cash flow, and account reconciliations Handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Managing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis Ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal financial controls Supporting leadership with accurate portfolio-level financial reporting Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA preferred 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity management Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills Experience in real estate accounting required Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Additional Info: Full-time, on-site role in Englewood, NJ High-responsibility position with direct exposure to leadership This is a great opportunity for a seasoned real estate accounting professional to take ownership of complex financial operations within a growing portfolio.
