Title: Leadership Gift Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Shift: M-F, 1st shift ( 8a-5p)Extended hours may be required Reports to: Chief Development Officer Department: Foundation Employment Status: Full-Time Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A Location: Corporate Office, Hybrid Date Created/Last Evaluated: February 9, 2026 Salary: Summary: The Leadership Gift Officer (LGO) is a frontline fundraiser responsible for building meaningful relationships with current and prospective donors to grow ThriveMore’s philanthropic base. This role focuses on securing new leadership-level gifts and identifying, cultivating, and soliciting new members for ThriveMore’s planned giving society. Qualification Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with donors, volunteers, or stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Comfort with CRM systems and basic data management.Willingness to travel regularly across North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in a frontline fundraising role, including direct donor solicitation.Experience with planned giving, major gifts, or leadership giving programs.Familiarity with senior living, healthcare, or faith-based nonprofit environments.Experience using Raiser's Edge, or a comparable fundraising database. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Warm, personable, and professional demeanorSelf-motivated and goal-orientedComfort asking for gifts and having financial conversationsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong storytelling abilityRespect for older adults and alignment with ThriveMore’s mission and values Supervisory Responsibilities•  N/A Essential FunctionsLeadership Giving (50–60%) Proactively identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new and existing donors capable of making leadership-level gifts.Manage a portfolio of 100–150 qualified prospects and donors.Conduct in-person meetings, tours, and donor visits across ThriveMore’s communities and in donors’ homes.Partner with senior leadership, community administrators, and program staff to connect donors with meaningful giving opportunities.Prepare tailored solicitation strategies, proposals, and follow-up communications.Track donor interactions, strategies, and outcomes in the organization’s CRM (Raisers Edge). Planned Giving (30–40%) Identify prospective planned giving donors through research, relationship-building, and collaboration with other development staff.Educate donors about planned giving options such as bequests, charitable gift annuities, beneficiary designations, and trusts.Work closely with the CDO to facilitate planned gifts.Actively recruit new members to ThriveMore’s planned giving society.Steward existing planned giving commitments through regular communication and recognition. Collaboration & Strategy (10–15%) Work collaboratively with the Development team on campaigns, events, and major initiatives.Support annual fund, capital, or special campaign priorities as needed.Represent ThriveMore at community events, resident gatherings, and donor functions.Provide regular progress reports on portfolio activity and revenue projections.
