This position provides a welcoming professional presence while delivering front-line support for international students and guests. The role requires strong communication skills, excellent organization, and the ability to learn and share general information about CGE services, including basic immigration-related processes and the programs offered through the Intensive English Institute (IEI) and International Student Services (ISS). The Front Desk Assistant plays a key role in ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all who engage with the Center.Summary of Responsibilities: Greet and welcome students, parents, and guests in a professional, courteous manner at the Center for Global Engagement front desk. Provide general information and front-line support to students engaged with International Student Services (ISS) and the Intensive English Institute (IEI) throughout their program experience. Respond to general inquiries via email, phone, and in-person, directing complex immigration or advising questions to the appropriate staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of campus resources and connect students with the appropriate offices and services as needed. Receive, sort, upload, and distribute student and staff mail, including documents related to Optional Practical Training (OPT) and other work authorization matters. Assist newly admitted international students with onboarding tasks such as account activation, resolving holds, enrolling in health insurance, and navigating university system. Manage day-to-day front desk operations, including scanning documentation, processing student requests, and maintaining an organized and efficient reception area. Serve as a liaison between students and senior advisors, ensuring clear communication and appropriate follow-up. Maintain accurate front desk logs and assist in generating reports to track student traffic and service trends. Support planning and implementation of international orientation, check-in procedures, and other Center for Global Engagement events. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
