The Clinical Documentation Specialist CDS Educator will report to a seasoned leader in Clinical Documentation/Revenue Integrity within Health Information Management, partnering closely with Coding, Case Management, Quality, and Finance for aligned goals and strong operational support. The Clinical Documentation Improvement CDI Educator will design and deliver education on ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignment, SOI/ROM, risk adjustment, compliant clinical validation, and query best practices; lead concurrent and retrospective reviews; mentor CDI Specialists; build dashboards; track KPIs such as CMI, query response rates, and physician engagement. The ideal Clinical Documentation Specialist CDS Educator should come from active CCDS certification or active CDIP Medical doctor license outside/inside the U.S., or active Physician Assistant (PA) License, or active RN license in the state of California. The Clinical Documentation Improvement CDI Educator should have Master's Degree in Nursing with three years Acute hospital experience in critical care or medical/surgical area required. 5 years of CDI experience required with 3 years experience providing training and leadership experience.
