This position contributes to food safety quality of the products and food manufacturing environment of the facility. The employee is a Qualified Individual who monitors for compliance; Process Controls (CCPs), Preventative Controls, GMPs, Food Defense, products according to the specification. ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions/Primary Responsibilities: Collect and label samples of ingredients, products and/or packages and monitor and test according to established Monitor processes to ensure they are operating according to guidelines in specification and facility programs. Managed ingredients or products retain inventory. Document neatly and precisely all Organize collected data for management review (charts, graphs, tables, ). Maintain labs and other work areas and equipment in orderly Communicate inconsistent results or observations to management immediately. Be aware of and conduct facility food safety audits (GMP, glass and brittle plastic, knife, etc.) as assigned. Inspect and swab equipment and environment; communicate problems to appropriate technical services or operations Recommend methods for improving any processes to reduce waste, improve productivity, improve quality and/or Perform other tasks as may be directed by QA Manager/Supervisor. Collects, manages, submits, and ships ingredients, product, and environmental samples for customer, internal/external testing, and other requirements as needed. Deliver Food Safety and Quality training as needed. Identify and make recommendations to correct reoccurring Fill in for QA 1, when needed to cover for absences, as assigned by Understand Company and Facility Policies and SOPs and as need conduct internal auditing to ensure proper implementation. Participate in studies or investigations to determine causes when products, ingredients, sanitation results do not meet targets or specifications. Log and monitor product holds and customer Initiate or participate in foreign material Prepare COAs for shipments to customer, as Participate in exercises to trace ingredients, food contact packaging, and finished products, by Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities Applies the food safety and quality principles as described in the Marzetti Corporate Food Safety and Quality Manual and internal Marzetti Frozen Pasta policies, training and procedures in all applicable aspects of departmental and job functions. #TMZ23 #LI-MB1 QualificationsQualification Requirements: High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement). At least 1 year experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst I, or related experience. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field preferred. Basic knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and FDA/USDA regulations Proficient laboratory testing and equipment operation Strong oral and written communication skills and computer skills required Basic knowledge of Quality Management System such as FSQS, audit standards, customer requirements, etc. Capable of identifying risks and promoting a proactive food safety and quality culture (food safety/quality minded) Basic insight on inspection techniques for GMP and food safety system compliance Basic micro program knowledge and execution Strong teamwork & collaboration skills Strong observational and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in data entry and quality documentation Attention to detail Analytical thinking Organizational skills Self-Learner Working Conditions/EnvironmentWorking Conditions/Environment: Works in an office, laboratory and manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, crouch, reach and bend while moving about the facility. Requires some lifting of moderately heavy items such as test equipment and product cases. The employee is regularly exposed to moving machines and handling hazardous testing and sanitation chemicals. The noise level in the lab is moderate and loud in the plant. Hairnets, ear plugs, goggles and gloves are required in accordance with GMP and safety standards. The employee is exposed to food allergens (wheat, eggs, milk, soy) and airborne particles of flour and other finely milled dry ingredients.
