Travel: Multi-site travel across GA, NC, SC, and FL Work Hours: Local normal business hours Role Overview Trick Dog Technology is seeking an experienced Field Network Engineer to support a large-scale network hardware refresh project for Pruitt Health. This role is focused on the physical replacement of Cisco Catalyst switches with Meraki MS150 switches across 59 healthcare sites. The Field Engineer will work in a staff-augmentation capacity, following direction from the NWN Project Manager and coordinating onsite with Pruitt Health IT staff. The engineer will be responsible for rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling cleanup, documentation, and basic physical-layer troubleshooting, ensuring each site is cleanly transitioned and fully documented upon completion. Key Responsibilities Project & Site Execution Participate in internal and external project kickoff meetings as required Travel to assigned sites and perform onsite switch replacement activities Serve as the onsite hands-and-eyes resource for NWN and Pruitt Health Execute work according to project schedule and site instructions provided by NWN PM Switch Installation & Cabling Remove existing Cisco Catalyst switches Install new Meraki MS150 switches in IDF closets Replace existing patch cables with new 3' patch cables Dress and organize cabling using Velcro wraps only (no zip ties) Maintain clean, professional rack appearance within physical constraints of each closet Coordinate with Pruitt Health staff regarding any special port requirements Documentation & Asset Tracking Take before and after photos of each IDF Record serial numbers for: All newly installed switches (by closet) All removed equipment (by site) Compile photos and serial numbers into a per-site Word document Submit completed documentation to the NWN Project Manager Equipment Handling & Logistics Prep equipment shipments at designated staging location Transport equipment to and from deployment sites Box and return all removed legacy equipment using original Meraki packaging Prepare equipment for return to Pruitt Health's designated HQ or shipping vendor Troubleshooting & Support Perform limited physical-layer troubleshooting while onsite, including: Cable reseating or movement Verifying link status post-installation Work directly with Pruitt Health IT staff to confirm devices are functioning as expected Escalate configuration or network issues to NWN or Pruitt Health as required General Duties Follow all onsite safety and facility protocols Communicate progress, blockers, and site completion status to the NWN PM Perform other related duties as assigned by the NWN Project Manager Required Skills & Experience Hands-on experience installing and replacing network switches in production environments Strong understanding of: IDF/MDF layouts Rack-and-stack best practices Patch cabling and cable management standards Experience working in staff-augmentation or field services roles Comfortable working independently across multiple sites Strong attention to detail for documentation and asset tracking Ability to lift and rack network equipment as required Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cisco Catalyst and/or Cisco Meraki MS switches Prior healthcare, multi-site retail, or enterprise rollout experience Familiarity with structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) Prior experience working with VARs, MSPs, or OEM deployment teams Important Notes All Meraki devices will be pre-configured by Pruitt Health prior to installation The Field Engineer is not responsible for switch configuration Work is expected to occur during normal business hours Travel time is not included in estimated installation hours Engineer is not liable for equipment damage or loss during transport per SOW terms
