Salary:$105k - $115k (very negotiable based on experience + 401k and Profit Sharing Bonuses & Excellent Benefits Schedule- M-F 9-4:30, 5-6 appts a day PTO - 3 weeks first year, and funds + 1.5 weeks of sick time Cardiac PET Technologist - Job Description Position Summary A Cardiac PET Technologist performs advanced cardiac imaging using Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to assess myocardial perfusion, viability, and cardiac function. This role supports cardiologists and nuclear medicine physicians in diagnosing and managing cardiovascular disease by producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Preparation Verify physician orders and review patient history for cardiac PET procedures. Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., pregnancy, allergies, renal issues). Explain procedures, obtain informed consent, and ensure patient comfort. Establish IV access and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed. Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout the procedure. Imaging & Technical Duties Operate PET/CT imaging systems for cardiac studies. Perform myocardial perfusion imaging (rest and stress protocols). Assist with pharmacologic or exercise stress testing. Ensure proper radiotracer handling, dose preparation, and administration. Acquire, reconstruct, and process images using specialized cardiac software. Maintain imaging equipment and perform routine quality control checks. Radiation Safety & Compliance Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles. Handle and dispose of radioactive materials in accordance with regulations. Maintain compliance with state, federal, and institutional guidelines. Collaboration & Documentation Work closely with cardiologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and nurses. Document patient procedures accurately in EMR systems. Participate in quality improvement initiatives. Stay current with advancements in cardiac imaging technology. Required Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology. Certification by: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N or ARRT-R with CT certification) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) State licensure as required. BLS certification (ACLS preferred). Minimum 1-2 years of nuclear medicine experience (cardiac PET preferred). Preferred Skills Experience with cardiac PET tracers (e.g., Rubidium-82, N-13 Ammonia). Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with PET/CT and cardiac stress testing protocols. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent patient communication and teamwork abilities. Work Environment Cardiology private practice
