Purpose of the position: As a Project Cost Controller, you will be a key member of the Project Controls Department at Saipem America Inc. Your primary responsibility is to manage and control project costs by establishing a reliable cost control system. You will support the Project Manager in decision-making to ensure projects remain within approved budgets. This includes early detection and analysis of budget deviations, estimating their impact, and monitoring corrective actions. The role also involves ensuring compliance with internal cost control reporting standards and collaborating effectively with relevant stakeholders. How can you support us? Support the Project Manager in keeping the project within budget and risk-safe through an effective control organization. Organize and maintain strong integration between scheduling, cost control, risk management, and document control functions. Promote a schedule/cost/risk awareness culture among all project participants. Design and implement a tailored Project Control System based on project complexity, contract requirements, and risk analysis outcomes. Oversee document control processes by ensuring project documentation is structured, maintained, tracked, and aligned with EDMS requirements. Issue and maintain project control documentation, including WBS, Risk & Opportunity Management Plans, Control Budget, Master Schedule, and Cash Flow. Monitor, assess, and report project performance against established baselines; identify deviations and recommend corrective actions. Ensure consistent and accurate progress measurement, schedule and cost forecasting, and trend analysis. Prepare and issue all required internal and client reports, including documentation supporting client invoicing. What are we looking for?Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field Background: 15+ years in project controls, planning, Cost Control, project management, or a related discipline. Languages: English. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of WBS/CBS creation and implementation; experience with cost control, planning, document control, EDMS, SAP, and scheduling tools (including Primavera P6). Advanced capability in cost control techniques, performance measurement, earned value, progress assessment, and economic risk evaluation. Proficiency with EDMS configuration, document control workflows, and development of analytical project reports. Solid understanding of project change management processes, including MOC tools and impacts on project economics. Expertise in project analysis and reporting (S-curves, KPIs, productivity indicators, earned value). Knowledge of integrated project control systems and information management techniques, with ability to troubleshoot user issues. Strong understanding of project planning standards and ability to ensure proper planning, scheduling, progress measurement, deviation analysis, and time-impact assessments for complex projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
