Coakley & Williams Construction, LLC Summer Internship 2026 - Safety Intern Main Office (Bethesda, MD) Language Coakley & Williams Construction, LLC Summer Internship 2026 - Safety Intern Main Office (Bethesda, MD) Coakley & Williams Construction, LLC Summer Internship 2026 - Safety Intern Main Office (Bethesda, MD) Language Department 600 Location Main Office Position Type Part Time Salary Requisition 2025-61 Open Date 10/27/2025 Close Date Description The Occupational Health & Safety Engineer Intern will have the opportunity to observe and participate in all aspects of OH&S management that are typically encountered in the construction workplace. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide support to safety managers in the areas of hazard identification and controls, creating and delivering site safety orientations, coaching and mentoring, reviewing safety-related documentation and providing feedback, performing field inspections, and creating reports Develop an overall understanding of the various managerial processes, administrative requirements, and safety-related administration at both the construction site and the corporate headquarters. Assist safety manager with document control, submittals, meeting minutes inspection reports, observations, and incident investigations using the company project management software. Active involvement in day-to-day communication with Project Teams, Subcontractors, Architects, Engineers, Inspectors, and Owners. Research and gather statistics and related data for periodic and special one-time reports. Gain an understanding of advanced technology and software to complete projects as assigned. Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required Be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing degrees in Occupational Health, Safety, & Environment, or a related field Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent documentation and organizational skills. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Ability to identify areas of improvement and uphold high-quality standards. Strong demonstration of exceptional oral and written communication skills. Must maintain a professional appearance at all times consistent with company standards. Demonstrate reliability and abide by the company attendance policy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook Wage Transparency In accordance with the Maryland Wage Transparency Law, the hourly range for this position is: $19.00 - $23.00 Job Demands Individuals should be able to reach above and below, stoop and bend, sit, walk, and stand. Individuals should also be able to lift, carry and/or moving items up to 50lbs. May be exposed to heavy machinery/equipment, hazardous chemicals and extreme weather conditions. Minimum of 40 hours per week required. Works hours will vary depending on project specifications and may involve overtime, weekends and night work.
