DescriptionOverview: To tack fabricated pipe in accordance with project specification, appropriate codes and Infinity Quality Control requirements and Safety Rules under the general direction of Production Manager or his designee. Responsibilities: Have in depth knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and operation of welding and equipment used in performing tacking of fabricated pipe. Identify the Project Number and Base Material to be tacked. Review Job Instruction Sheet in Rod Metal Room and identify approved welding process and filler metal to be used. Communicate to Rod Room attendant what is required for him to perform his assigned job. Sign for filler metal issued. Perform tacking process in accordance with Procedure Qualification assigned to this project and the tackers welding qualifications. The tacker is responsible for assuring their tacks will meet or exceed the minimum qualification for each tack they make. The tacker is responsible for assisting the fabricator in moving the selected pipe spool to their work table and back to either weld out pile or weld in accordance with Shop Safety Rules. Communicate any and all equipment issues to their immediate supervisor in a timely manner. Repair any unacceptable tacks in accordance with appropriate welding specification. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Must wear PPE at all times while in the shop. EX: Safety glasses, leather boots, gloves, and welding hood Must follow all company safety rules, procedures, regulations, and company's Core Safety Rules Report any unsafe conditions and practices to supervisor or safety manager immediately Report any accident or incident on the job to supervisor or safety manager immediately Qualifications: Minimum of 1 years' experience in the fabrication environment Excellent organization and communications skills in working with co-workers and supervision. Have a good understanding of Shop Safety Rules and Regulations and practice Safety daily. Must be a team player and a self-starter with a commitment to excellence and openness to implement and drive change. Must be able to stand for 10 hours, and squat and bend at the waist as needed throughout the day Have the ability to lift at least 50lbs Must be able to work 10 hour days, 5 days a week Attention to detail Proven work ethic
