Job Statement: The Floor Packager is responsible for safely and efficiently transferring finished liquid products from mixing tanks, holding tanks, and totes into final packaging such as drums, totes, and other containers. This position focuses on value-added filling activities, ensuring tanks and holding vessels are emptied promptly once batches are approved for packaging. The role also includes preparing and staging materials, cleaning totes, and supporting production flow through effective communication and coordination with the Packaging Flow Coordinator, Material Handlers, Supervisors and other departments. Primary Responsibilities: • Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and company standards. • Prepare and stage packaging materials such as drums, totes, pails, and labels in advance of production needs. • Verify packaging and labeling accuracy according to batch and product requirements. • Ensure all totes and containers are properly cleaned, sanitized, and inspected prior to use. • Assist in cleaning and preparing multiple totes in advance during downtime to maintain readiness. • Safely transfer product from mixing tanks, holding tanks, or totes into designated containers using approved filling procedures. • Empty tanks promptly once QC approval is received to maintain production flow and tank availability. • Monitor fill levels and product quality during packaging operations. • Communicate with the Packaging Flow Coordinator and Material Handlers to request materials and coordinate priorities. • Remain focused on value-added filling activities whenever a tank or holding vessel is ready for packaging. • When not actively filling perform support tasks such as cleaning, staging, or labeling. • Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or quality concerns immediately to the Coordinator or Supervisor. • Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance productivity and safety. • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and consistent product quality. • Support and live our core values - People First, Integrity, Grit, and Innovation - in all daily activities. • Perform other related duties as needed to maintain safe and efficient operations. Required Skills and Abilities: • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. • Ability to operate filling and transfer equipment safely and efficiently. • Knowledge of product labeling, packaging, and container handling. • Ability to coordinate with Material Handlers to ensure timely supply of packaging materials. • Understanding of cleaning procedures for totes, drums, and holding tanks. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to wear required PPE, including respirator, gloves, and protective clothing. • Willingness to identify and suggest process improvements. Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Previous experience in packaging, filling, or manufacturing preferred. • On-the-job training provided. Physical Requirements: • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift. • Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds. • Manual dexterity to handle hoses, valves, and container seals. • Exposure to chemical odors, humidity, and manufacturing noise. • Ability to tolerate temperature variations and perform repetitive motions.
