Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/09/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, rotating Employment Type: Travel Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 24-bed acute care unit in a community/critical-access hospital setting. The RN will care for a diverse adult patient population and must be comfortable working with limited onsite resources. Unit Details Beds: 24 inpatient (+ up to 10 observation/day-surgery patients) Patient Population: Adults; very limited pediatrics (travelers typically excluded) Nurse-Patient Ratios: Days: 1:5 Nights: 1:6 Team nursing with LPNs (2 RNs : 7 patients) Required Experience & Skills Minimum 1 year Med-Surg or Med-Tele acute care RN experience Strong IV skills (no IV team on site) Comfortable floating to like units Ability to work independently in a resource-limited environment Basic telemetry interpretation skills Preferred (Not Required): TURPs with CBI Critical Access hospital experience Trauma Level III or IV background Common Diagnoses & Procedures Pneumonia, cellulitis, UTI, COPD GU cases, pacemakers, sepsis Nursing home placements Day surgeries: Ortho (hips/knees), cholecystectomy, appendectomy TURPs with CBI Telemetry No dedicated telemetry techs Telemetry strips reviewed daily in ICU RNs must recognize basic arrhythmias Drips No titratable drips required Certifications BLS - Required ACLS - Preferred Shift & Scheduling 12-hour shifts: Days: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Mostly nights; day/night rotation possible Self-scheduling when possible (blocking not guaranteed) Weekend & Holiday Requirements Weekends: Every other (Fri/Sat/Sun rotation) Holidays: 2 of 3 major holidays Call / Standby Possible call or standby based on unit needs Support Staff Charge nurse carries an assignment Nurse aides available Hospitalist onsite until 6 PM, then telemedicine Respiratory Therapy available 24/7 (CPAP support) Orientation Day 1: 8 hrs computer training + 4 hrs shadowing Day 2: 12-hour orientation shift Day 3: Independent assignment Floating Required to float to like units Dress Code Solid, professional scrubs (no specific color) Important Notes Local rate applies for candidates living within 80 miles (rate reduced by $8/hr) Must disclose any prior employment with Marshfield If applicable, must be 6 months since last end date All clinicians must clock in/out onsite About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States. As a leading healthcare staffing agency, Malone's focus on compliance and integrity translates to a seamless experience for our team members and partner facilities.
