We are looking for experienced Teamster Driver. Position Description General Statement of Duties Operates trucks and construction equipment for VeeJay Cement Contracting and related work. Examples of Essential Work (Illustrative Only) Operates trucks and pulls trailers to haul, distribute and place materials. Attends meetings, conferences and workshops as requested and authorized, Performs related work as required. Perform all duties and work assignments in a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound manner. Specifically, complying with the Health & Safety Program; maintaining work areas in a safe and orderly manner; identifying and reporting unsafe conditions; reporting all accidents; wearing required personal protective equipment; and attending safety-related meetings, training sessions, fit testing, etc. Perform all duties and work assignments in compliance with project quality requirements. Act responsibly and ethically, and in conformance with generally accepted business, occupational, and professional standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of boom truck, tractor trailer, and roll off/container truck. Good knowledge of traffic safety and laws as they apply to the operation of assigned equipment; Skill in the operation of trucks and other assigned equipment; Ability to communicate well with supervisors, other employees, and the general public; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisory personnel, and the general public; Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions; Ability to perform a wide variety of vehicle operation tasks with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines, in both normal and emergency situations and in all forms of weather; Ingenuity and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks; Must have knowledge and experience in all regulations pertaining to chaining and securing all types of heavy equipment on the transport trailer and experience of loading heavy equipment on the transport trailer, for example, backhoe, dozers, loader, land, etc Acceptable Experience and Training Graduation from high school (or GED); and Considerable experience operating large trucks and construction equipment; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work. Required Special Qualifications Possession of a Commercial Drivers License issued by the State of Missouri. Some positions within this class may require possession of a Commercial Drivers License with specialized endorsements; Class A endorsement. Possession of CCO Certification (ideal) This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement. According to the terms of the CBA, applicants who are selected will be required to join the appropriate union with a certain period after hire. Details of union participation will be given to employees upon hire.
